Franzese Wine was founded by Michael Franzese and Samvel Hakobyan. The back story reads like the tale of a pheonix risen. Michael was listed in a 1986 Fortune magazine article as #18 on its list of the "50 most wealthy and powerful Mafia bosses." Over time he found God, left the mob life and became a successful entrepreneur and motivational speaker. His partnership with Samvel, whose family had a history of winemaking was the genesis of the wine company.
The grapes for this 100% Malbec wine are grown at high elevations (about 2,625 ft. above sea level) in the Ararat Valley of Armenia. The terroir of these plantings shine in the wine. It is a sunny, fresh, fragrant & full-bodied red. Layers of violets, cherry, red currant, black plum & baking spices greet and meet the senses. The wine owns a smooth medium-length finish.
