Mezcal Vago prefers to be philosophically and literally off the beaten mezcal path. They actively seek out small batch maestros mezcaleros, who for generations have been perfecting their craft deep in the Southern Mountains of Oaxaca. They believe in losing themselves in the hills, and searching out the extaordinary.
Joel Barriga creates his mezcals in the high desert oasis of Hacienda Tapanala. For this Joven bottling he utilizes Espadin - the most widely cultivated agave variety for Mezcal in Mexico. Don Joel takes a slightly deeper distillation cut which procuces one of the brightest, fruit-forward mezcals in Vago's lineup.
An excellent sipper and craft cocktail choice. The still is copper and the batch size is 932 liters. 50.3% ABV
