PELISSERO "BRICCO" BARBARESCO 2013, Piedmont
Availability: In stock
92pts from James Suckling this vineyard was started in a garage by Papa Pasquale Pelissero who was one of the first in Nieve to produce and bottle his own wines. This tiny family owned winery is now owned by his daughter Ornella since his passing in 2007 with the Barbaresco parcel consists of just under 20 acres. Implementing new techniques in the process from start to finish make this winery a local treasure where other vintners visit to observe. Intense and earthy in all facets the opaque ruby red hues are blended with garnet flecks. Aromas of red cherry and red wild berries showcase nuances of exotic spices. Full-bodied and smooth yet firm with persistent tannins create a palate of black cherry, tobacco, and licorice. A long velvety finish with dried black fruits, toasty baked spices, and espresso round out this textbook Barbaresco. You can enjoy it now or age it up until 2021. Pairs wonderfully with any earthy dishes, ragus', and hearty one dish wonders!!
