Mezcal Vago prefers to be philosophically and literally off the beaten mezcal path. They actively seek out small batch maestros mezcaleros, who for generations have been perfecting their craft deep in the Southern Mountains of Oaxaca. They believe in losing themselves in the hills, and searching out the extaordinary.
The Arroqueno mezcal by Emigdio Jarquin is a Joven made from 100% pure Arroqueno agave; one of the most sought-after agave. It is grown in the Miahuatlan Valley surrounding Emigdio's home in El Nanche. The natural acidity often found in Arroqueno beautifully compliments the earthiness and salinity that lingers on the finish of Emigdio's mezcal. The still is copper and the batch size is 661 liters. 50.8% ABV.
