LONG SHADOWS 'PEDESTAL' MERLOT 2020, Columbia Valley

Part of the Long Shadows portfolio, the 2020 Pedestal Merlot is a blend of 84% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. Grapes hail from Weinbau Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope, a warm site that delivers Merlot with layers of dark, textured fruit with vibrant character. Red Mountain and Candy Mountain vineyards give the wine its backbone. Dionysus Vineyard contributes to the Pedestal’s distinguished mid-palate, adding beautiful richness. Concentrated ripe huckleberry and wild blackberry flavors seamlessly blend with hints of sweet violet and oak spice. Espresso and dark bitter chocolate elements add depth. The wine is lush and rich on the supple mid-palate with a velvety, textured finish that lasts suggestive of a long future in the cellar. Sustainable.
