Formed in 2003, Anthony Scotto (A3) launched Scotto Cellars under the tutelage of his father A2 and family friend/mentor wine industry icon John McClelland. A3's drive stemmed from an early love of family and their history curated by his grandfather Anthony Sr. (A1). Growing up in Pleasanton, CA, the siblings would hang out in their grandfather's winery and have traditional Sunday night family dinners. Their grandfather's stories developed a deep sense of purpose and history for the fifth generation. A3 and his 5 other siblings learned how the family came from Italy through Brooklyn and on to California. They also learned that the Scotto family's four previous generations had a winemaking history dating back to 1883 in Ischia, Italy. By 2006 this was a no brainer for three of A3's siblings. Natalie joined the family business and in doing so she broke many glass ceilings for women in the industry. Shortly after, Paul and Michael joined. All have their hands in the business from development to production, distribution, and their Scotto Cellars tasting room in Lodi known as Scotto Wine & Cider. Pale yellow edged with light greens hues lead into inviting aromas of honeysuckle, ripe golden apple and white tropical fruits. The palate is semi-sweet with juicy ripe golden fruits and zesty citrus. The finish is long and lingering with creamy tropical fruits and zesty crisp bubbles. Enjoy chilled on its own or pair with creamy, buttery cheeses and spicy salami on a Charcuterie board, any veggie dish, and any fruit dish.
