Hailing from Château Paveil de Luze, which is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc region, Château de La Coste is the second wine produced here. The vineyard dates back to the 17th century having been ran by the Barons de Luze Family since 1862. The blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot is fermented in stainless steel tanks then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels consisting of 25% new oak. Brilliant ruby hues are edged in purple with aromas of black fruits, baking spices, and fresh cut wood wafting out. Soft, satisfying, and elegant with a lush mouthfeel the palate is dominated by dark jammy berries, dark stone fruits, and leather. Finishing medium with juicy fruits, tobacco, and pops of graphite from the minerality in the estates soil. Enjoy on its own or paired with mushroom dishes, game, rustic veggies dishes, or anything grilled, braised, and roasted. Drink now or age until 2026.
