Gaja is the biggest name in Italian wine. The Gaja winery was founded by Giovanni Gaja in 1859 and has been owned and operated by four generations of the Gaja family, with Angelo Gaja running the operation since the 1960s. Gaja is most well-known for his Barbarescos, though the three most sought-after wines, Costa Russi, Sori Tildin and Sori San Lorenzo. Gaja’s wines display opulence and elegance unmatched elsewhere in Italy. These wines, while harnessing modern technology, have a long-established track record, ensuring they will perform well both in the glass and on the auction block.
Chateau Lafite Rothschild
Chateau Lafite Rothschild is perhaps the most famous wine label in the world. The estate achieved wide popularity in the 1750s when it became the favorite wine of King Louis XV. Thomas Jefferson was also a steadfast customer and even visited the estate. Schaefer’s has ben the sole custodian of these wines. ZD Cabernet Abacus
Abacus is the ultimate Cabernet Sauvignon. This special solera style bottling of every ZD Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon produced is a “vertical in a bottle.” Abacus began its unique bottling in 1992, with 24 vintages of Cabernet. The award winning concept offers the best of both worlds: the fruit of a young wine and the layers of complexity that develop in older Cabernets. Winemaker Robert de Leuze has pioneered this style of Cabernet and ZD is the only winery in the US to produce such a wine. These wines are spectacular!
Mischief & Mayhem
Mischief and Mayhem sources grapes from all over the Côte d’Or and the Raggs’ knowledge of the region coupled with over a decade on the ground and in the vineyards, combine together in a personal business that is dedicated to producing outstanding wines from some of the world’s greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards. The company achieved full domaine status in 2012 with the purchase of a small plot in Aloxe-Corton. An additional vineyard in Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru Aux Gravains was added to the portfolio in 2013, and the company is currently engaged in a renovation programme, creating its new winery and barrel cellars in Aloxe-Corton.
Méo-Camuzet is one of the most celebrated domaines of the Côte d’Or, located in the heart of prestigious Vosne-Romanée. The domaine boasts fourteen hectares of land in some of the most spectacular appellations and crus of Burgundy. Domaine Méo-Camuzet bottles astounding grands crus and ten premier crus (from the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-St-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, and Fixin). Chataeu Talbot has a reputation for consistency and is one of the most carefully made and reliable of the St-Julien Cru Classé clarets.
