Schaefer’s hosts numerous tastings, classes, dinners, and parties. An expert and/or VIP always guides the way. For decades Schaefer’s has been graced by scores of luminaries from around the world. It’s a testament to how we conduct our business and to the character of our customers.

“Schaefer’s Saturday” Tastings

Every Saturday we are tasting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sample foods from our deli and selected wines, beers, and spirits. Put us on your calendar!

Uncorked Events

On a scheduled basis, usually Thursday evenings, Schaefer’s hosts tastings and events featuring winemakers, distillers, brewers and their ambassadors. Broaden your horizons, sample the newest releases and enjoy great “one night only” deals. Be sure we have your email for a timely heads-up.

Schaefer’s Saturday Tastings

Please join us every Saturday for our regular weekly wine tasting. We will feature new additions to our shelves as well as the latest vintage releases. The Deli will always be putting out some delicious samples too.

March 7th: We’ll have a few surprises this week. Our wine staff will be selecting the lineRevolution-Brewing-logo up so you never know what might be on the table! Revolution Brewing will also be in attendance this Saturday. Revolution is considered Chicago’s new hometown craft brewery. Stop in and sample these tasty suds!



Thursday, March 5th: 5-7pm

Petit Chateau TastingCabin Fever

Serge De Maesschalck with De Mour French exports will be joining us this evening. Serge will be presenting several wines from some of Bordeaux’ finest petit chateaux. This will include wines from France’s world renown regions of Pauillac, Margaux and Graves. This is the perfect cure for your winter “Cabin Fever”…join us from 5-7pm.

Gallo’s Spring Winemaker Dinner




Scott Kozel TrimmedJoin Scott Kozel, VP of Coastal Winemaking for E&J Gallo at Northbrook’s Di Pescara. As Director of Coastal Winemaking, Scott oversees the winemaking teams at Louis M. Martini Winery and William Hill Estate Winery. Scott will be sharing his wines from these properties as well as MacMurray Ranch Estates while you enjoy a four-course meal created by chef Mychael Boneer of Di Pescara.
